Terms of use
The rules for browsing the site, signing in, and submitting what you are building.

Who you are agreeing with
buildinpublic.tools is run by The Digital Path Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15275931). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The tool listings
Tool listings and their verdicts are our opinion. We check the facts against the live product on the day we write a listing, but prices and features change after that. Check the product's own site before you buy.
Some listings carry affiliate links. When they do, the page says so. Affiliate deals never change what a listing says.
Your account
You sign in with X or GitHub. You need to be 13 or older, and you are responsible for anything done through your account.
Signing in with a different provider creates a separate account. Keep to the one you started with.
Submitting a launch
Only submit a product you built or are allowed to represent. Keep the description accurate. Each account can hold up to five launches.
Do not submit anything illegal, deceptive or harmful. That covers malware, scams, stolen work, adult content, and products that exist mainly to spam people.
We review every launch by hand before it goes live. We can approve it, reject it, or remove it later, and we tell you why when we reject one. Approval means your launch meets these terms. It is not an endorsement of the product.
Content you give us
You keep ownership of everything you submit. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and reproduce it, and to share it on our social accounts and in our newsletter to promote the site. The licence lasts while the content is on the site, plus the time it takes to clear it from backups after you delete it.
We may also write our own editorial listing about a product that has launched here. That listing is our opinion, and it may be critical. We do not need your permission to write it.
Using the site fairly
Do not try to break into the site or its accounts. Do not pretend to be someone else, or scrape the site at a rate that slows it down for everyone else.
We can suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we remove its launches too.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@buildinpublic.tools from the address linked to it. The privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you do.
Our responsibility
The site is free, and we provide it as it is. We try to keep it accurate and running, but we cannot promise it will always be either.
We are not responsible for products listed or launched here, or for what happens between you and their makers. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for loss of business, profit or data.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects your account in a significant way, we tell you by email first. Questions go to hello@buildinpublic.tools.
